Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP is delighted to invite you to its annual Scholar-in-Residence seminar.
We will be hosting an esteemed panel who will discuss, compare and critically consider different approaches to the arbitral institutions' key functions and expanding roles, as well as future challenges and opportunities.
While case administration remains the arbitral institutions' core activity, institutions increasingly assume related roles. They actively participate in developing arbitration laws and "best" practices through issuing guidelines, publishing decisions, hosting conferences and training events, and participating in public forums.
Panelists include:
- Andrea Carlevaris, Secretary General
International Court of Arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) - Nadia Darwazeh, Secretary General
Jerusalem Arbitration Centre (JAC) - Jacomijn van Haersolte-van Hof, Director General
London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) - Lim Seok Hui, Chief Executive Officer
Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC); Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC) - Francesca Mazza, Secretary General
German Institution of Arbitration (DIS) - Mohamed Abdel Raouf, Director
Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA)
The discussion will be moderated by Patricia Shaughnessy, Stockholm University and WilmerHale Scholar-in-Residence for 2015; Maxi Scherer, Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP and Queen Mary, University of London; and Gary Born, Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP.
