On May 20, 2026, WilmerHale hosted a pro bono clinic in its New York office in support of JPMorganChase’s (JPMC) annual Day of Service. The effort brought together attorneys from WilmerHale and JPMC in collaboration with the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG), a leading nonprofit organization that provides free civil legal services to New Yorkers in need.
At the clinic, WilmerHale and JPMC volunteers worked side by side to assist noncitizen parents in planning for their minor children’s future care and custody through NYLAG’s Standby Guardianship Clinic. Volunteers prepared a set of legal documents that enable a Family Court or Surrogate’s Court to appoint a “standby guardian” in the event that a parent is deported, medically incapacitated or otherwise unable to care for their child.
WilmerHale volunteers included Partners Susan Schroeder and Yoon Hi Greene; Special Counsel Megan O’Flynn; Pro Bono Counsel Erin Meyer; Senior Associate Emily Brody-Bizar; Associates Annabel Chosy, Maya Kammourieh, Cassie Shapiro, Brandon Hornlein and Sandy Ra; and Technology Specialist Andrew O’Brien. WilmerHale’s volunteers were joined by a group of JPMC Vice Presidents, Executive Directors, and Managing Directors, along with seconded WilmerHale Associate Kevin Agostinelli.
“We are proud to partner with JPMorganChase and NYLAG on this day of service,” said Schroeder. “This is the second year we’ve worked with JPMorganChase attorneys to provide legal services to those in need, and these clinics reflect the meaningful impact we can make when we work together with clients and community organizations.”
“It was a privilege to collaborate with our colleagues at JPMorganChase and NYLAG to provide useful services to families in the New York community,” added Greene. “Across the firm, lawyers and staff value the opportunity to partner with our clients to make a difference.”
This effort reflects WilmerHale’s continued commitment to pro bono service and to strengthening partnerships with clients and community organizations.
