WilmerHale Team Wins Litigators of the Week Title for Sweeping Victory in Dropbox’s First-Ever Trial

WilmerHale Team Wins Litigators of the Week Title for Sweeping Victory in Dropbox’s First-Ever Trial

Recognition

Litigation Daily named Partners Greg Lantier and Amanda Major “Litigators of the Week” in recognition of their clean sweep defending Dropbox in its patent showdown with Motion Offense.

Lantier and Major employed a three-pronged defense to craft a compelling trial narrative in response to Motion Offense’s 13 claim limitations. On May 19, 2023, not only did a federal jury in Waco, Texas find that Dropbox did not infringe Motion Offense’s patents, it also found that the patents themselves were invalid.

In a Q&A feature accompanying the recognition, Lantier and Major discussed their winning defense strategy and credited additional members of the WilmerHale team for their important contributions. Among those members are Liv Herriot, Mark Matuschak, Brittany Amadi, Trishan Esram, Namo Kim, Makenzi Herbst, Rauvin Johl, Jeannette Leopold, Lanta Chase, Becky Middleton, LaShawn Davenport and Lenise Jennings.
