ICC UK’s Symposium in 2014 will focus on the Arbitral Award. During this one day conference, speakers will examine a range of aspects of the arbitral award, including the process of deliberation, partial awards and setting aside proceedings. The event will also look at emergency arbitrator orders and their effectiveness.
Chaired by Audley Sheppard and Jason Fry, with an introductory speech by John Beechey reflecting on "Lessons learnt for writing an award," and a stellar cast of experienced practitioners from the UK and abroad, the event will provide a forum to share experiences on decision-making and practical issues affecting awards, exchange and establish best practices, as well as to discuss and learn about more technical issues such as the "res judicata" effect of awards, enforcement and the influence of national law.
WilmerHale Special Counsel Dr. Maxi Scherer will be speaking on "'Res judicata' of partial awards" during Session IV.
