Mike Romeo represents clients around the world in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, defense, technology, transportation, commodities trading and financial services, and commercial real estate, in complex and high-stakes criminal and civil investigations, regulatory inquiries, and public and private litigation. Mr. Romeo has represented clients in multi-faceted and multi-regulator investigations involving the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA and the National Transportation and Safety Board. In addition, he has represented clients in class actions and commercial disputes and appellate litigation, including litigation before the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Romeo has experience in in matters related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, crisis management, securities fraud, financial and accounting fraud, wire fraud, sanctions and export controls, disclosure issues, and complex commercial disputes.

    • Representing an investment advisor in an ongoing SEC inquiry into the Company’s registration status and activities 
    • Represented Theranos, Inc. in multi-year, broad-ranging inquiries by the US Attorney’s Office, the SEC, and the Arizona Attorney General, and in shareholder and consumer class action litigation
    • Represented a major international technology company in the US Attorney’s Office and SEC inquiries involving alleged violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act in the Middle East
