On September 26, 2023, Sierra Space, a leading pureplay commercial space company building the first end-to-end business and technology platform in space, announced the completion of a $290 million Series B funding round. The financing was co-led by MUFG Bank, Kanematsu Corporation and Tokio Marine & Nachido Fire Insurance, with participation from Sierra Space’s existing investors. This latest private capital infusion will enable Sierra Space to forge critical global partnerships and build a transformational space tech ecosystem that will revolutionize the space economy of the future, as it prepares its Dream Chaser spaceplane for recurring mission operations for NASA cargo resupply flights to the International Space Station and continues development of the first commercial space station.
