Costs and damages are two—often interrelated—topics in international arbitration which have received considerable attention over the last few years. The complaints by users that arbitration has become too expensive and too slow have been taken seriously by all major institution and numerous suggestions have been made on how to tackle the problem. One of the areas of concern is generally the damage phase in the arbitral proceedings. The conference will address a number of the most pertinent issues relating to costs and damages.
