This seminar provided the latest information on export regulatory trends, with a focus on current compliance issues.The seminar featured export compliance practitioners and other experts discussing the following issues: the latest changes under the pending export control reform initiative; special concerns involving product and technology export controls, including the new STA license exception, recent changes in encryption regulations and the anticipated migration of items from State Department to Commerce Department control; deemed export compliance, data security, and use of cloud-based technology; and trends in worldwide export controls, along with special concerns for US firms operating overseas.
Speakers for this all-day conference included export compliance practitioners from some of the state's leading exporting firms. The event also featured video keynote guests Kevin Wolf and Todd Willis of the US Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry & Security. Mr. Wolf and Mr. Willis provided updates on the federal export control reform initiative, including the recently-expanded oversight of the Bureau of Industry and Security to include munitions items previously controlled under the State Department.
