WilmerHale and Osborne Partners are delighted to host the launch of the Arbitrator’s Handbook (LexisNexis, 2022). The Arbitrator’s Handbook is a collection of chapters on various aspects of arbitration practice from the perspective of an arbitrator written by distinguished experts in the field. The book is designed to serve as a useful tool for modern arbitrators, equip them with answers to the most common questions and engage them in further debate on global best practices. The book includes a chapter on “How to Decipher Expert Reports,” co-authored by Mr. Montek Mayal, Partner and Practice Head - Asia and the Middle East, Osborne Partners, as well as a chapter on “Drafting an Arbitral Award (Investment Arbitration),” co-authored by Ms. Danielle Morris, Partner, Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP.

We will be welcoming as speakers: Mr. Shashank Garg, editor of the book; Mr. John Beechey CBE, international arbitrator, Arbitration Chambers; and Professor Maxi Scherer, Special Counsel at WilmerHale and international arbitrator.

The Arbitrator’s Handbook will be introduced by Mr. Beechey, followed by editor’s comments by Mr. Garg. Thereafter, Mr. Beechey and Professor Scherer will discuss their approaches to drafting arbitral awards, expert evidence and quantum issues in a fireside chat under the Chatham House Rule with Mr. Mayal and Ms. Morris.

The discussion will be followed by a drinks reception.
