Ravi Deol is a US Patent and Trademark Office (PTO)-registered intellectual property and complex commercial disputes litigator who focuses on intellectual property enforcement, protection and strategic counseling. Ravi has successfully handled all aspects of complex intellectual property disputes, including patent infringement, post-grant proceedings, patent assessment and due diligence, trade secret and unfair competition, trademark, brand and portfolio management, outsourcing, licensing, and internet of things.

Mr. Deol’s intellectual property experience covers a wide variety of technologies, including web-based services, wireless technology, computer circuitry, telecommunications, power over ethernet, data routing and switching, GPS technology, display technology, video playback, oil and gas equipment, pharmaceuticals (ANDA litigation), smart home devices and systems, and Medicaid management information systems.

His complex commercial litigation experience includes contract disputes, insurance disputes, oil and gas rights disputes, international tax disputes, employment disputes, and bankruptcy disputes.

Mr. Deol has experience handling patent cases at all stages of litigation, including invalidity contentions, fact and expert discovery, depositions, claim construction, dispositive motions, trial, and appeal. He has a wide variety of courtroom experience, including arguing discovery motions, claim construction and dispositive motions.

He has represented a broad range of clients in state and federal courts, including in Texas, Delaware, California, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Michigan, Alaska, Kentucky, Minnesota, Florida, New Mexico and Colorado. Ravi has also represented clients before the US International Trade Commission and the PTO, including the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Prior to private practice, Mr. Deol was a law clerk for three years in the Eastern District of Texas. During this time, he assisted on cases in Tyler, Marshall, Sherman and Texarkana, Texas. He worked with several judges throughout the Eastern District of Texas during his clerkship.
