Maximilian Aufhauser is a lawyer in WilmerHale’s regulatory and government affairs as well as competition practice groups.

He advises on data protection, data law, IT law and regulatory matters, with particular experience in GDPR, AI/big data, digital governance and cross‑border privacy compliance, as well as on regulatory and competition issues in other highly regulated industries such as healthcare, life sciences and transport.

Before joining WilmerHale he has supported international law firms, global tech clients and public authorities in complex research, litigation support and regulatory questions.

His academic background includes distinctions in both German state examinations and an LL.M. (First Class Honors) from Trinity College Dublin with a focus on intellectual property and information technology law.
