Lauren Moxley Beatty represents companies and individuals as they navigate government and regulatory investigations and litigation. Ms. Beatty brings to the firm a decade of experience in private practice and across all three branches of the federal government.

Before joining the firm, Ms. Beatty served as an Attorney-Adviser in the Office of Legal Counsel in the Department of Justice, where she advised senior executive branch officials on a range of high-stakes and often unprecedented legal issues, with a particular focus on matters relating to technology, national security, and congressional investigations. She also served as Senior Counsel in the Office of the Associate Attorney General, where she advised senior leadership and oversaw high-priority litigation matters handled by the Department’s Civil Division.

Prior to her service at the Department of Justice, Ms. Beatty was Senior Counsel on the US Senate Judiciary Committee, where she counseled on issues relating to civil rights, consumer privacy, antitrust, Section 230, artificial intelligence, and intellectual property. Earlier in her career, Ms. Beatty was a litigation associate at another international law firm, where she focused her practice on representing technology companies in cutting-edge statutory and constitutional challenges from the trial courts to the US Supreme Court. Ms. Beatty also represented clients in Administrative Procedure Act challenges to government regulations and other official actions.

Ms. Beatty has published academic articles on constitutional, statutory, and regulatory matters, and is the creator of The Ginsburg Tapes, a podcast analyzing Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s arguments in the US Supreme Court.
