At its meeting today, the Presiding Board of the Association of the German Automotive Industry (Verband der Deutschen Automobilindustrie, VDA) elected WilmerHale Partner and Member of German Federal Parliament (Bundestag) Matthias Wissmann as its new President. Mr. Wissmann will assume this new position as of June 1, 2007 and will simultaneously give up his Bundestag mandate. He will remain a Partner at WilmerHale.
Matthias Wissmann is a member of the Corporate group, where he focuses on transactions having a transatlantic dimension. Together with Martin Seyfarth, he heads the firm’s Legal Strategy and Public Policy practice group in Berlin.
