WilmerHale is pleased to announce that Liz Lindquist, a leading healthcare regulatory lawyer and trusted advisor to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and investor clients on pricing, reimbursement, market access, compliance, and government contracting matters, has joined the firm as a partner in its industry-leading Life Sciences Practice based in the Denver office.
Lindquist advises life sciences industry stakeholders on complex regulatory, compliance, transactional, investigative, litigation and legislative matters involving US federal and state healthcare agencies, policymakers, and enforcement authorities. Her practice focuses on counseling clients on federal and state drug pricing, reimbursement, and market access matters, including the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program, Medicare Parts B and D, the 340B Drug Pricing Program, implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act, most-favored-nation drug pricing initiatives, and related compliance, enforcement, product life cycle, and commercialization considerations.
Lindquist also counsels clients on the rapidly evolving landscape of state regulation, including prescription drug affordability board (PDAB) reviews, transparency and reporting obligations, pharmacy benefit manager regulation, and other emerging state requirements. She is also widely recognized for advising life sciences companies on federal procurement and contracting matters, including domestic preference and country of origin requirements, supply chain initiatives, the BIOSECURE Act issues, and other government-facing commercial strategies.
Prior to joining WilmerHale, Lindquist practiced at another international law firm, where she represented clients ranging from some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers to emerging and pre-commercial life sciences companies. Her experience includes high-stakes enforcement matters, including federal and state attorney general investigations and actions, pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, federal contracting disputes and bid protests, transaction-related regulatory counseling, and strategic advice for growth-stage biotechnology companies and investors.
“Liz brings an exceptional combination of technical sophistication, practical judgment, and strategic insight,” said Anjan Sahni, WilmerHale’s managing partner. “As organizations across the healthcare ecosystem confront increasing complexity at the federal and state levels, her ability to help clients navigate business-critical reimbursement, policy, and enforcement issues will be a significant asset to our platform.”
“Liz’s arrival enhances our ability to advise innovative companies throughout the product life cycle and builds upon the recent addition of FDA regulatory partner, George O’Brien,” said Brian Boynton, chair of WilmerHale’s Regulatory and Government Affairs Department. ”Her experience, combined with our strengths in FDA matters, False Claims Act defense, government investigations, litigation, public policy, and transactions, further strengthens our ability to help clients address their most consequential challenges.”
“Liz adds to the momentum of our Denver office’s growth and continued investment in Denver and the broader Mountain West region,” said Mindy Sooter, the office’s partner-in-charge. The office added litigation partners Suneeta Hazra and Jason Burt earlier this year. “She is highly respected throughout the life sciences sector, and her addition will further connect our office to clients, industries, and opportunities across WilmerHale’s global platform.”
“WilmerHale’s combination of life sciences, investigations, litigation, regulatory, public policy, and transactional capabilities creates an outstanding platform for helping clients navigate a rapidly evolving regulatory and business environment,” Lindquist said. “I am excited to collaborate with colleagues across the firm to help companies address reimbursement, commercialization, enforcement, government contracting, and other strategic business challenges."
Lindquist earned her JD from Saint Louis University School of Law with a certificate in health law studies and her BA in biology and history from Williams College.
