WilmerHale was honored to have the firm and its lawyers selected as finalists in seven categories in the prestigious 2025 American Lawyer Industry Awards contest. American Lawyer announced the finalists on August 14, 2025.

The firm and its lawyers were selected finalists in the following categories:

• Best Provider Collaboration for WilmerHale’s work with co-counsel the Law Offices of Joel B. Rudin P.C. and Hoover & Durland in the Buffalo Five case in which a jury delivered a $28 million verdict on behalf of a wrongly convicted upstate New York man
• Media Advocacy Award for the firm’s successful defense of the New York Times against a defamation lawsuit by Sarah Palin, the one-time Republican vice presidential nominee and former Alaska governor
• Best Law Firm of the Year in a joint nomination of law firms and their legal counsel fighting Executive Orders
• Managing Partner of the Year for WilmerHale leader Anjan Sahni.
• Most Promising Newcomer for Associates Reid Carroll who advises broker-dealers, securities exchanges, and other financial institutions, and Bethany Thomas, whose practice focuses on complex litigation matters
• Litigation Department of the Year for General Litigation
• Litigation Department of the Year for IP Litigation

Winners will be announced on November 13, 2025 at American Lawyer’s annual awards dinner in New York City.
