The American Lawyer has honored Co-Managing Partner Susan Murley with a Lifetime Achievement award in the publication’s inaugural New England Legal Awards.

Murley has more than 35 years of experience in representing private and public companies in the technology, life sciences and finance sectors, among others. She concentrates her practice primarily in the areas of corporate finance, mergers and acquisition, corporate governance and general corporate counseling. 

During Murley’s 11 years leading WilmerHale - when she was one of the only women in the most senior leadership role at an Am Law 100 firm - she played an instrumental role in shaping a culture where it is business as usual to find women leading in both client representation and firm management. She has worked to ensure that growing numbers of diverse lawyers have access to the prestige and profit available at the very top of the legal profession, and that the firm’s clients receive the strongest representation possible, drawing from all the firm’s talent. Through Murley’s leadership roles at WilmerHale, from co-managing partner, to chair of the Transactional Department, member of the Management Committee and assistant managing partner, she has been part of a team that has driven the firm’s financial growth, increased efficiency, and streamlined the firm’s services to deliver results both for clients and the partnership.

This year’s Lifetime Achievement honorees were recognized at the New England Legal Awards on Thursday, September 21 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, MA.
