WilmerHale Reps EverQuote, Inc. in its Acquisition of Crosspointe Insurance Advisors

Client News

On August 4, 2020, EverQuote, Inc., a leading online insurance marketplace, announced that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire Crosspointe Insurance & Financial Services, LLC, a leading health insurance agency.

Crosspointe is a sales and decision support contact center that connects consumers to high-quality healthcare insurance in a customer-centric environment. As a result of the agreement, Crosspoint will accelerate the extension of EverQuote’s digital distribution platform to a direct-to-consumer agency model within the health vertical. The acquisition, in conjunction with EverQuote’s organically-developed, direct-to-consumer agency initiatives, broadens EverQuote’s ability to access the $130 billion commission TAM component of the overall insurance distribution spend, shifting online.

The acquisition is expected to close by the end of the third quarter, subject to customary closing conditions.

The WilmerHale deal team representing EverQuote in this transaction was led by Andrew Bonnes, Jon Jones and Lauren Roberts, and included support from Scott Kilgore on employee compensation and benefits matters, Kirk Nahra on data privacy matters, Julie Hogan Rogers and Ben Kelsey on tax matters, and Jeff Johnson on intellectual property matters.
