Manuel Casas spoke at this conference on the effectiveness of non-UN sanctions, organized jointly by the European Society of International Law and the Centre For International Law at the University of Nottingham. The conference addressed the different types of sanctions imposed by regional organizations such as the European Union or by individual States. Mr. Casas' presentation addressed the effectiveness of political sanctions imposed by Latin American regional organisations like the Organisation for American States and Mercosur.
