The US Patent and Trademark Office show that the number of AIA petitions filed in FY2015 is more than 75 times higher than the number of CBMs and IPRs that were initiated in 2012. On March 15, MIP is hosting a one-day “US Patent Forum: Analyzing the PTAB for In-House Counsel and Their Advisors” conference to shed light on strategies for litigating at the PTAB, delve into pertinent statistics and give analysis on specific sectors, such as pharmaceuticals.

WilmerHale Partner David Cavanaugh will be a moderator on the panel, “How to prepare for the rule changes in 2016,” which includes WilmerHale Partner Mark Selwyn as a panelist. They will discuss the changes and how they will affect post-grant procedures and implications for effective strategies for both patent owners and petitioners.
