Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr Again Named Among the World’s Leading International Arbitration Firms in GAR 30

February 13, 2014

Global Arbitration Review again featured Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr in the top ranks of its prestigious GAR 30 list, which includes the leading international arbitration firms in the world. The results were revealed last night at the fourth annual GAR Awards dinner and are the culmination of a lengthy research process, conducted over several months. The firm's international arbitration practice has been included in these ranking ever since the list's inception, making this the seventh consecutive year to receive this honor.

Consistently identified as one of the very best international arbitration practices in the world, Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr was recently named by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers as the "Law Firm of the Year" in the category of International Arbitration—Commercial and earned the title of "Firm of the Year" for international arbitration by The Legal 500 UK Awards 2013.

The GAR 30 looks at the number of merits and jurisdictional hearings the firm participated in during the past two years. Other criteria by which firms are assessed include the number of pending cases as arbitrator and as counsel and the number of listings a firm achieved in the most recent edition of The International Who's Who of Commercial Arbitration. The GAR 30 commentary and analysis can be viewed here, while the full GAR 100 survey is accessible here.

Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP is credited with having one of the world's most active international arbitration practices, having been involved in more than 600 proceedings in recent years. The firm has successfully represented clients in four of the largest institutional arbitrations and several of the most significant ad hoc arbitrations to arise in the past decade, and also prides itself on consistently achieving its clients' objectives in all cases, through efficient staffing and the use of in-house know-how and precedents.
