Daniel Esrick Honored with Outstanding Service Award for Pro Bono Political Asylum and Immigration Efforts

On June 19, Daniel Esrick was honored as the recipient of the 2013 Political Asylum/Immigration Representation Project (PAIR) Outstanding Service Award for his years of dedication, hard work, and excellence on related pro bono cases. Esrick accepted the award at the PAIR Gala at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston.

Esrick, who is a counsel in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice and the Business Trial Group has actively represented numerous pro bono clients in Immigration Court and before the Board of Immigration Appeals, including successfully representing more than half a dozen clients seeking political asylum in the United States. In addition, over the past few years, he has served as a mentor for many firm associates.

Founded in 1989, PAIR is the core provider of pro bono legal services to low-income asylum-seekers in Massachusetts, and has over a 95% successful outcome in its cases. PAIR has provided direct legal services to more than 4,500 clients, and has trained and mentored over 900 volunteer lawyers in the state.
