WilmerHale Ranked on National Law Journal’s 2013 Appellate Hot List

Client News
The National Law Journal (NLJ) today named WilmerHale to its 2013 Appellate Hot List. The annual list recognizes firms that have achieved significant appellate wins over the past year and also have a strong appellate track record overall. This marks the sixth consecutive year WilmerHale has been included in the listing.

The article entry for WilmerHale highlights a number of the firm’s recent Supreme Court victories, including Bowman v. Monsanto Co. and FCC v. Fox Television Stations. Regarding the latter, the journal quotes Partner Seth Waxman saying, “[b]roadcast networks are not going to be subject to post hoc, idiosyncratic decision-making about sanctions.” Additionally, NLJ mentions the amicus briefs that WilmerHale filed with the High Court in the two pending same-sex marriage cases, United States v. Windsor and Hollingsworth v. Perry

The journal observes WilmerHale’s continuous success in attracting top young legal talent this year. Finally, NLJ points out that WilmerHale’s appellate work extends well beyond the Supreme Court, stating that firm lawyers “are active in state and federal appellate courts nationwide.”
