Senior Lawyers Join WilmerHale in 2012

During the past several months, WilmerHale has welcomed a distinguished group of senior lawyers from diverse positions in government, business, the judiciary and private practice.

Richard Andersen is a partner in the Transactional Department, and a member of the Tax Practice Group. Mr. Andersen has more than three decades of experience in domestic and international transactional tax matters.

James Carter is a senior counsel in the firm’s International Arbitration Practice Group. Mr. Carter has more than 40 years of experience as arbitrator or counsel in more than 100 arbitration cases involving joint ventures, international trade and investment disputes.

Drew Chapman is a partner in the Securities Department, a member of the Investment Management Practice Group and head of the Alternative Investment Practice. He has 15 years of experience in private practice in New York focusing on the alternative investment, asset management and financial services industries.

Meredith Cross, former Director of the Division of Corporation Finance at the SEC, has rejoined the firm. From 1998 to 2009, Ms. Cross was a partner at WilmerHale, and served as co-chair of the firm’s Corporate Practice. Her work at the firm focused on advising clients on corporate and securities matters, as well as working on the full range of issues faced by public and private companies in capital raising and public reporting.

Robert Finkel is a partner in the Corporate Practice Group. Mr. Finkel has more than 20 years of experience in private practice representing leading international corporations and financial institutions in complex commercial transactions with a particular focus on technology and outsourcing.

Lisa Firenze is a partner in the Transactional Department, and a member of the Corporate, Capital Markets, Public Company Counseling and FinTech Practice Groups. Ms. Firenze was most recently executive director and senior counsel at UBS Investment Bank, and previously worked in private practice in New York and London, representing major investment banking firms and a variey of corporate clients.

Arthur Gajarsa is a senior counsel in the Litigation/Controversy Department and a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice. He joined the firm following a long and distinguished career in the judiciary. Prior to his 15 years on the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Judge Gajarsa was a well-recognized litigator. His experience also includes service at the Department of Commerce, Department of the Interior and Department of Defense.

Glenn Luinenburg is a partner in the Transactional Department, and a member of the Corporate Practice. He is an experienced corporate lawyer with a diverse practice focused on the representation of technology clients.

Stephen Luparello is a partner in the Securities Department, and a member of the Broker-Dealer Compliance and Regulation, and Litigation and Enforcement Practice Groups. He joined the firm after a 16-year career with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), where he most recently served as Vice Chairman.

Stephen Pollard is a partner in the Litigation/Controversy and Securities Departments, and a member of the Investigations and Criminal Litigation and Securities Litigation and Enforcement Practice Groups. He joined the firm in 2012 with more than 25 years of experience of the full spectrum of business crime and securities enforcement work.
