President Obama Nominates Edward C. DuMont to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit

WilmerHale Partner Edward C. DuMont was today nominated by President Obama to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. DuMont is currently a partner in WilmerHale's Appellate and Supreme Court Litigation Practice Group, where he focuses his practice on Supreme Court and appellate litigation and on advising clients with respect to complex or novel legal issues.

Before joining WilmerHale in 2002, DuMont served for several years as an Assistant to the Solicitor General at the US Department of Justice, and also as an Associate Deputy Attorney General. Throughout his career, he has argued 18 cases before the Supreme Court of the United States.

"Ed DuMont has distinguished himself throughout his legal career in both the public and private sectors," President Obama said in a statement announcing the news. "He possesses a keen intellect and a commitment to fairness and integrity that will serve him well as a judge on the Federal Circuit."
