ChIPs and Diversity Lab named WilmerHale a 2021 Inclusion Blueprint Champion in recognition of the firm’s commitment to inclusivity. WilmerHale is one of twenty firms to obtain champion status based on the Inclusion Blueprint survey, a collaborative assessment that measures inclusion and diversity at the leadership and practice group levels. The firm received top scores in Firm Leadership, Intellectual Property & Intellectual Property Litigation and Securities Litigation/Enforcement & Investigations/Criminal Litigation.
The Inclusion Blueprint is a joint initiative between ChIPs, a nonprofit focused on the advancement of women in technology, law and policy, and Diversity Lab, an incubator that aims to increase diversity and inclusion in the legal field. Over the years, the initiative has developed concrete practices to ensure that underrepresented lawyers receive equal access to quality work and advancement opportunities. It also provides law firm leaders with thresholds they should routinely monitor to be sure that their firm is fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
ChIPs and Diversity Lab award a select group of firms with champion status based on their survey results, which is indicative of the firms’ adherence to these thresholds. The survey measures the current diversity representation and year-over-year progress, as well as ongoing inclusion activities and practices. WilmerHale achieved this status in 2019 when the survey was last administered.
