Kimberly Parker Is Recognized by The National Law Journal as a 2019 Equality Trailblazer

Recognition

Kimberly Parker, a Washington, DC–based partner, was named to The National Law Journal’s (NLJ) inaugural list of 2019 Equality Trailblazers. This recognition honors legal professionals who have led in the fight for equality on such issues as gender equality and LGBTQ rights.

Ms. Parker’s profile features her lengthy and significant involvement with reproductive rights and women’s issues, dating back to her time with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) following law school. Co-chair of the firm’s pro bono and community service committee for the past ten years, Ms. Parker has represented a variety of clients in dozens of matters where laws have restricted access to reproductive health care. The profile highlights her work with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Planned Parenthood.

NLJ’s profile of Ms. Parker notes that she is currently working on a challenge by the American Medical Association and Planned Parenthood to new, more restrictive federal rules affecting Title X funds for contraception for low-income women. Ms. Parker said she expects this area to remain active and she will, too, on these reproductive rights issues.
