WilmerHale’s Zachary Goldman, a senior associate in the firm’s New York office, is scheduled to be a panelist on a June 27 webinar focusing on how companies can best assess their sanctions-compliance programs. The webinar will be hosted by Risk Assistance Network + Exchange (RANE), an information-sharing and advisory services company aimed at helping companies contend with the critical risks facing their operations.
The webinar, titled “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World of Sanctions: Best Practices for Navigating the Increasingly Complex Sanctions Environment,” comes in the wake of new guidance issued in May by the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control on how companies can best gauge the effectiveness of their compliance programs.
Mr. Goldman’s practice focuses on national security, data privacy, intelligence, financial sanctions/anti-money laundering, cybersecurity, cryptocurrency and distributed ledger technology such as blockchain. His clients include companies in the financial services and technology sectors, many of which are global in nature. Mr. Goldman has significant government experience, having served as a special assistant to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and as a policy advisor at the Treasury Department to the Office of Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes.
