Partner and Co-Chair of WilmerHale’s Anti-Discrimination Practice Danielle Conley and Counsel Annsley Merelle Ward will speak at “Standing Up and Speaking Out,” a joint event with ChIPs and Corporate Counsel Women of Color (CCWC).

This virtual roundtable will feature a candid conversation with women leaders in law about the recent events in the United States and across the world following the killing of George Floyd. The discussion will address how lawyers, policy makers and technologists can collectively engage in anti-racist initiatives and take concrete steps towards creating positive change, justice, equality and inclusion. ChIPs Co-Founder and Board Chair Noreen Krall, who serves as vice president and chief litigation counsel at Apple, will moderate the conversation.

Other speakers include Laurie Robinson-Haden, CEO and founder of CCWC; Laurie Charrington, associate general counsel at Intel and ChIPs Honor Roll co-chair; Judge Kathleen O’Malley of the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit; and Retired Judge Ann Claire Williams, of counsel at Jones Day.

ChIPs (which stands for Chiefs in IP) was founded in 2003 by the heads of IP at leading Silicon Valley companies, including Apple, Google, eBay and Cisco, to promote and advance women in STEM, law and policy. CCWC was founded in 2004 to provide a network to support and promote career advancement to in-house women of color. ChIPs and CCWC aim to promote global diversity in the legal profession and the workplace. WilmerHale lawyers are actively involved in both organizations, as members and leaders, supporting the firm’s commitment to advance diversity, equality and inclusion across communities.
