Itsiq Benizri focuses his practice on EU data protection, cybersecurity, electronic communications and competition law.
Mr. Benizri advises clients on data protection and cybersecurity compliance issues, including global compliance programs, internal procedures, outsourcing and cross-border data flows. Mr. Benizri has also been involved in several high-profile judicial and administrative proceedings. His experience covers a broad set of sectors, including social media, IT and cloud computing, communications, banking, energy, chemicals, transport, automotive, gaming, pharma, food and beverage, sports, media, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. Mr. Benizri has an active pro bono practice and advises international NGOs on data protection and cybersecurity compliance issues.
Mr. Benizri is qualified as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals and is a member of this association. He is also qualified as a "privacy and cybersecurity expert" for the EU and Belgium by Getting The Deal Through. Mr. Benizri is a frequent contributor to the firm's Privacy and Cybersecurity Law Blog.
With regard to competition law, Mr. Benizri advises clients on EU aspects of cartels and merger control proceedings, as well as on e-commerce in general, including online distribution issues. His experience covers several industries, including energy, pharmaceuticals, electronics and financial services.

- Representing Baker Hughes in relation to Halliburton’s proposed acquisition of the company (a phase 2 case ultimately terminated by the parties).
- Representing a pulp and paper company in a significant acquisition in the industry.
- Advising an energy company in relation to the creation of a full-function joint venture.
