Courtney A. Murray provides corporations and individuals with strategic counsel in high-stakes matters at the intersection of law, public policy, and the media. She guides clients through investigations, including those involving parallel proceedings before Congress and federal, state, or international regulators.

As a member of the firm’s Congressional Investigations practice, Ms. Murray has extensive experience representing clients in high-profile congressional investigations and inquiries. She has prepared senior executives, including multiple C-level executives of public companies, to testify before both chambers of Congress, state legislatures, and international tribunals, as well as participate in briefings or meetings with government officials. Ms. Murray also provides regular counsel and risk management advice to philanthropies and donors across several areas of grantmaking. She also maintains an active pro bono practice, with a focus on human rights, government accountability, and veterans affairs.

Ms. Murray began her career at WilmerHale as a summer associate in 2019. She later served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Judge Kenneth M. Karas of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. In law school, Ms. Murray was a legal extern in the Office of the Legal Adviser at the US Department of State, a summer law clerk in the Criminal Division of the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, and a summer legal intern for the International Legal Foundation in New York. Prior to law school, she worked as a program assistant at a federal government contracting company and as a research intern for the Windham County Office of the Public Defender.
