Camila Gonzalez
Senior Associate
Camila Gonzalez provides strategic counsel to clients responding to high-profile data breaches, cyberattacks, consumer protection matters, and corporate crises and advises on complex government investigations, congressional oversight, and internal investigations. She has represented a broad range of clients including large healthcare companies, university systems, defense contractors, pharmaceutical companies, and large technology companies facing some of the most challenging issues in the current regulatory environment.
Ms. Gonzalez represents clients before federal and state regulators, including in large multistate Attorneys General investigations, Federal Trade Commission investigations, DOJ investigations, and investigations by the Health and Human Services Department Office for Civil Rights. Ms. Gonzalez has prepared senior executives for briefings before state regulators, presented investigative findings to DOJ, and responded to a range of subpoenas and civil investigative demands.
In her congressional investigations practice, Ms. Gonzalez has represented pharmaceutical companies, healthcare companies, ocean shipping companies, and others in US Senate and House investigations. She has also prepared chief executive officers and other C-suite executives to testify before Congress.
Ms. Gonzalez maintains an active pro bono practice focused on advising non-profit clients on privacy compliance and congressional oversight.
Ms. Gonzalez began her career at WilmerHale as a summer associate in 2019. While pursuing her legal education, Ms. Gonzalez worked at the Berkeley Environmental Law Clinic. She received a Clinical Legal Education Association Outstanding Clinical Student Award for her advocacy on behalf of clients in litigation against the federal government. Ms. Gonzalez also served as a legal intern at Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.
Prior to law school, Ms. Gonzalez clerked for an Administrative Law Judge at the Social Security Administration and served as Special Assistant to then-Congressman Xavier Becerra.
