In a Bloomberg Law INSIGHT article, Kirk Nahra, WilmerHale partner and co-chair of the firm’s Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice, outlined the top five health care privacy issues in 2020 he expects will be worth monitoring.
According to Mr. Nahra, the broad five areas that bear watching are:
- The Health and Human Services Department’s Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Request for Information
- Access rights and enforcement
- Non-HIPAA health data
- California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the healthcare industry
- Medical research
