WilmerHale is pleased to announce that leading tax lawyer Jeffrey Tolin has joined the firm as a partner in its Tax Practice, based in New York. His arrival deepens the firm’s tax capabilities, further enhancing the strategic counsel it provides on complex transactions.
With more than 25 years’ experience advising on complex corporate, partnership, and other transactional tax matters, Jeff counsels multinational corporations, partnerships, private equity funds, and venture capital firms on the tax aspects of business transactions and strategic initiatives, including deal structure, contract negotiation, and post-transaction planning. His work encompasses mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, financings, restructurings, joint ventures, long-term tax planning, as well as day-to-day tax counseling.

Jeff advises clients across a wide range of sectors, including telecommunications, media, technology, life sciences, and automotive, as well as charitable and other tax-exempt organizations. Prior to joining WilmerHale, Jeff was a partner at another international law firm, where he focused on corporate and international tax matters. He has also written extensively for New York State Bar Association reports on U.S. international tax topics and frequently speaks at international tax conferences.
Jeff earned his JD and LLM in Taxation from New York University School of Law and his AB in Economics from the University of Chicago.
