On August 26, 2026, Altruist, an AI-forward wealth technology and custody platform serving financial advisors, announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Vanguard. WilmerHale is serving as regulatory counsel to Altruist in the transaction, providing guidance on both broker-dealer and investment adviser regulatory requirements and processes.
“WilmerHale’s strengths as a go-to adviser for financial institutions make the Firm uniquely situated to provide counsel in transactions like this one, at the intersection of financial regulation and innovation,” said Susan Schroeder, a WilmerHale partner and Chair of the Securities and Financial Services Department.
Altruist offers a purpose-built platform, specialized talent, advisor relationships and deep expertise translating advice into better workflows and experiences.
