Earlier this month, WilmerHale attorneys David H. Waites and Joshua L. Mogil were elected to the Council on Foreign Relations (“CFR”) as Stephen M. Kellen Term Members for a 5-year term.
This highly selective program seeks to develop the next generation of leaders in international affairs and U.S. foreign policy. Founded in 1921, CFR is a nonpartisan, independent national membership organization, think tank, educator, and publisher, including of Foreign Affairs. It generates policy-relevant ideas and analysis, convenes experts and policymakers, and promotes informed public discussion—all to have impact on the most consequential issues facing the United States and the world. Its membership includes senior government leaders, business executives, lawyers, journalists, educators, and has included U.S. Presidents, Cabinet Secretaries, Supreme Court Justices, and Nobel Prize winners. It also includes a number of WilmerHale attorneys, as well as corporate members comprised of many of the firm’s clients.
At the firm, David H. Waites provides strategic counsel to clients responding to high-profile corporate crises and advises on government investigations and congressional oversight. Mr. Waites also currently serves as a Major in the U.S. Air Force Reserve assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency, and he previously served in the White House Council of Economic Advisers. Joshua L. Mogil draws on deep experience across government, banking and the legal sector to advise clients on regulatory compliance, investigations and enforcement matters. Mr. Mogil also currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown, and previously served in the Obama and Biden Administrations.
