Adrian Percer, a leading intellectual property lawyer, has joined WilmerHale as a partner in its Palo Alto office.
“Intellectual property has long been one of the foundational practices of WilmerHale,” said Managing Partner Anjan Sahni. “We are thrilled that Adrian is joining our ranks as we continue to grow and invest in this area of practice.”
WilmerHale has been a Chambers Band One Intellectual Property firm since 2011 and has achieved accolades from numerous publications for its outstanding IP practice. The firm has a strong reputation for solving its clients’ most complex IP and IP litigation challenges – particularly in life sciences and technology.
“Adrian and I worked closely together for over a decade and I am delighted to reunite with him to serve our clients,” said Sonal Mehta, vice chair of the firm’s Litigation/Controversy Department and partner-in-charge of the Palo Alto Office. “Adrian is respected not only for his deep knowledge across a wide range of technologies but for his experience and strategic judgment in venues ranging from the ITC to the PTAB to the district courts.”
“Adrian’s background and expertise, especially on the technology side of his practice, is a rare find in the market and a natural fit for our firm,” said Emily Whelan, chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department.
Adrian’s practice focuses on counseling technology companies in a wide variety of intellectual property matters, including patent and ITC litigation, PTAB proceedings, portfolio management, patent acquisitions, dispute counseling, licensing, freedom to operate, and corporate due diligence. Adrian has represented clients in a broad range of technical disciplines, including wireless communication, distributive computing, e-commerce, security, digital rights management, smartphone technologies, imaging, and medical device technologies.
“I am excited to be joining WilmerHale – a firm I have admired for many years for its reputation on the West Coast and its collegial culture,” said Adrian. “I was attracted to the firm because of the strength of its IP practice and knowledge of their incredible lawyers – many of whom I have either worked with as co-counsel or on opposing sides.”
Adrian graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1996 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He earned his MS in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford in 1998 and his JD from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2001.
Immediately following law school, Adrian joined another AmLaw 100 firm as an associate in its Silicon Valley office. He was elevated to counsel in 2008 and then partner in 2012.
