Debo P. Adegbile Recognized by New York Lawyers for the Public Interest for Commitment to Public Service

Recognition

New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYLPI), a nonprofit civil rights law firm, has honored Debo P. Adegbile for his efforts to advance equality and civil rights. Debo, a partner in the Government and Regulatory Litigation Group, focuses his practice on a range of matters at the intersections of law, business, higher education and government policy.

As chair of WilmerHale’s Anti-Discrimination Practice, Debo is adept at successfully navigating and applying complex anti-discrimination laws and regulations that govern conduct for US businesses, educational institutions, nonprofits and government entities. WilmerHale has worked to advance equality under the law for generations and stands out among big law firms for the scope and reach of its full-service anti-discrimination practice. Debo and his counterparts draw upon years of experience in the top tier of the law firm, government and not-for-profit sectors to bring a deep commitment to the principles of equality, fairness and inclusion to the practice. In addition to his anti-discrimination work at the firm, Debo serves as a Commissioner on the US Commission on Civil Rights, a position to which he was appointed by President Obama in 2016, and has served in high-ranking roles with the Senate Judiciary Committee and the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc.

Debo and co-honoree, John Suydam of Apollo Global Management, will be recognized at NYLPI’s annual Law and Society Awards Luncheon at Cipriani 42nd St on March 8.
