On November 22, 2021, Private Ocean, LLC, a California-based fiduciary wealth management firm, and Wealthspire Advisors, an independent investment advisor, announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement pursuant to which Wealthspire Advisors would acquire Private Ocean. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2021, subject to customary approvals and closing conditions.

The WilmerHale team representing Private Ocean was led by Stephanie Evans and JC Minko on the corporate side and Bill Caporizzo, Scott Kilgore, Timothy Silva and Amy Null on the tax, employment and regulatory side.
