Attorney News

Professor Maxi Scherer, Special Counsel in the firm’s International Arbitration Practice, presented on the topic “Technology in a new world” at the Third SIFoCC Meeting (Standing International Forum of Commercial Courts), which took place on March 24, 2021.

SIFoCC has established itself as an invaluable forum at which commercial judges and court administrators come together to exchange views and share best practices. The collaboration, cooperation and contact that SIFoCC fosters amongst its members enables commercial courts to better address opportunities and challenges in the rapidly changing landscape of international commercial dispute resolution.

Professor Scherer’s presentation considered predictive legal analytics—the use of machine learning artificial intelligence, which is trained on a given data set of legal judicial decisions in order to predict the outcome of future similar decisions—and is available to watch online.
