Partner Kirk Nahra, Co-Chair of WilmerHale's Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice, and Counsel Ali Jessani will be speaking at the Privacy + Security Forum Fall Academy 2026, taking place November 4-6. WilmerHale is proud to sponsor the event once again this year.

The Privacy + Security Forum Fall Academy brings together leading privacy, cybersecurity and technology professionals for in-depth educational programming on the most pressing legal, regulatory and compliance challenges. The conference is designed for privacy and security professionals, chief information officers, attorneys, academics, technologists, policymakers, and other industry leaders seeking practical guidance and insights on emerging issues.

On Thursday, November 5, Kirk Nahra will present "Privacy Law and Journalism: An Unexpected History" from 10:10-11:10 a.m. During this session, Nahra will examine the role journalism has played in shaping modern privacy law. While privacy law is often thought of as a product of statutes and regulations, many of today's most significant privacy issues were first brought to public attention through investigative and thought-provoking journalism. The discussion will explore how media coverage has influenced legal developments and consider the implications for the future evolution of privacy law.

On Friday, November 6, Ali Jessani will join a panel discussion titled "A Survival Guide for Health-Related Advertising in a New Enforcement Era" from 10:10-11:10 a.m. The panel will explore how health-related advertising has evolved into a major enforcement focus amid expanding privacy regulations, increased scrutiny of consumer health data practices, and growing litigation risks. Attendees will gain practical insights into emerging state privacy requirements, enforcement trends, the risks associated with inferred health information and proxy data, and innovative audience-targeting approaches that can help organizations balance advertising effectiveness with compliance obligations.
