Partner and Co-Chair of the firm’s Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice and Artificial Intelligence Practice, Kirk Nahra, will present "Making Old Ethics Work for New Technology" at the IAPP Privacy. Security. Risk. + AI Governance Global 2026 conference. This session is MCLE ethics eligible.

Most legal ethics rules were written before today's technology existed. They focus mainly on litigation and on small firms managing individual client funds. In this session, Kirk will apply those rules to case studies in privacy, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Attendees will join an interactive discussion on how lawyers can give sound advice on these issues while following the ethics rules.

Attendees will learn:

  • Key issues to consider when advising on new areas of privacy, cybersecurity and AI
  • Where the existing rules raise concerns
  • Where the gaps in legal ethics are and how they can guide your advice
