A growing number of healthcare privacy laws are already “on the books,” yet confusion continues to mount over what qualifies as “health information” and why it should be treated differently from other types of data. At the same time, it is becoming increasingly difficult to justify why all data labeled as health information warrants heightened protection. In this session, Kirk will explore why healthcare privacy has become such a complex compliance challenge—and why it continues to matter.
