WilmerHale presents “The Revolution Will Be Synthesized: A Webinar Series on Legal Developments in the Age of AI.” This is the ninth webinar in this series.

On August 1, 2024, the Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) of the European Union entered into force. It is considered to be the world’s first comprehensive horizontal legal framework for AI. It provides for EU-wide rules on data quality, transparency, human oversight and accountability. During this webinar, WilmerHale lawyers Martin Braun, Anne Vallery and Itsiq Benizri will discuss the obligations the AI Act imposes on businesses that use AI.

Topics will include:

  • an overview of the scope of the AI Act and its risk-based approach;
  • relevant obligations for limited-risk AI systems, with a focus on transparency obligations for emotion recognition and biometric categorization AI systems;
  • relevant obligations for users of high-risk AI systems, with a focus on instructions for use, monitoring, data quality, transparency and fundamental rights impact assessments; and
  • an overview of enforcement and penalties under the AI Act.

*CLE credit is not available for those who watch a recording of the webinar.
