Sponsorship

WilmerHale is a proud sponsor of the 45th Annual International Trade Update (ITU) held by Georgetown Law in Washington DC from May 21-22. Georgetown Law's ITU is a premier continuing legal education program for the trade and customs bar and provides an annual forecast on legal and policy developments, which may feature trade remedies and customs law, trade policy, developments in disputes and trade negotiations, and sanctions and export controls. Partner David Ross, chair of the firm’s International Trade, Investment and Market Access Practice, is a member of the Georgetown University Law Center ITU CLE Advisory Board.

On Wednesday, May 22, Partner Neena Shenai will participate in a session called "The New Normal: National Security Comes for Trade and Investment” at 11:45 a.m. Ms. Shenai’s session will:

  • Review the explosion of export controls and related policies (ICTS, data restrictions) and their impact on client needs
  • Discuss the nascent outbound investment screening mechanism
  • Hear from security and trade experts on trends and how to help clients stay abreast of developments

In addition to convening in-person, all sessions will be available to watch virtually as a live webcast. Both in-person and virtual attendees will also have access to all sessions as on-demand content after the conference.
