Appleseed Honors WilmerHale for Outstanding Pro Bono Contributions

Firm News

WilmerHale was recognized by Appleseed at its annual fundraising event “Celebrating the Power of Making a Difference” held last night at the Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center in Washington, DC. The firm was honored for its “outstanding pro bono program, which has worked in concert with Appleseed on several projects, and for the dedicated service of leaders at the firm on the Appleseed Board of Directors.”

Partners Steven Hut and Ann Kappler sit on the Appleseed Board of Directors. Associate Jonathon Thessin, as well as former WilmerHale lawyers Angela Pegram and Pooja Bhatia, made great contributes to a timely and well-received report entitled, “Forcing Our Blues into Gray Areas: Local Police and Federal Immigration Enforcement,” which was released earlier this year.

Appleseed, a non profit network of 16 public interest justice centers in the United States and Mexico, uncovers and corrects social injustices through legal, legislative and market-based structural reform. For more information, visit: www.appleseednetwork.org.
