WilmerHale Ranks Highly in Law360 Survey of Lawyer Racial and Ethnic Diversity

Recognition

In a recent survey by Law360, WilmerHale ranked as one of the top 10 large US law firms with the most racial and ethnic diversity among lawyers. The firm placed 8th in the publication’s Diversity Snapshot ranking of 65 firms with more than 600 lawyers. The firm also ranked 5th among large firms with the highest representation of minorities in the equity partnership.

The Diversity Snapshot ranks firms based on their proportion of minority lawyers and proportion of minority equity partners. It also incorporates a "pipeline score," which measures how diversity changes at each successive level of seniority.
"We are very encouraged by this recognition of the firm's ongoing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, including the support and resources devoted to our internal DEI efforts," says Co-Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Monya Bunch. "We also acknowledge that we have to work hard to keep attracting, retaining and elevating lawyers from diverse backgrounds."

The DEI team specifically credits the support of regional Diversity Committee chairs, Partners Peter Kolovos, Nora Passamaneck, Cynthia Vreeland, April Williams and Dino Wu. They also credit the Executive Diversity and Inclusion Committee (EDIC)—co-chaired by Co-Managing Partners Susan Murley and Robert Novick—and the diverse makeup of the firm's management committee, which draws on many perspectives to shape inclusive policies and programs.
