William Becker focuses his practice on securities clearance and settlement issues. He counsels registered clearing agencies and their affiliates and other organizations in the financial services industry on a wide range of securities, regulatory, corporate, transactional and compliance matters. Mr. Becker regularly advises on matters involving securities laws and regulations, self-regulatory organization rule filings and the federal and state banking laws and regulations. He has extensive experience counseling clients on the laws and regulations applicable to clearing agencies and clearing agency membership matters. He also frequently advises on capital markets offerings, leveraged finance transactions and strategic partnership and licensing arrangements.

Prior to joining WilmerHale, Mr. Becker was counsel to a multinational law firm in New York.

Professional Activities

Mr. Becker is a member of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association and the Business Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
