Thomas Oates focuses his practice on complex commercial disputes and litigation. Mr. Oates has represented a wide variety of clients in disputes ranging from breach of contact and common law tort claims to litigation in complex Chapter 11 cases under the US Bankruptcy Code. Mr. Oates also maintains an active pro bono practice and has represented veterans applying for benefits and in appeals to the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Oates was a law clerk for the Honorable William H. Martini of the US District Court for the District of New Jersey. Before Mr. Oates’ clerkship, he was an associate for another international law firm in New York. While in law school, he was also a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Madeline Cox Arleo of the US District Court for the District of New Jersey.
