Sam Winter-Barker
Special Counsel
Sam Winter-Barker is special counsel in the Litigation/Controversy Department, and is a member of the International Arbitration Practice Group. He represents corporations, investors, sovereign states, and state entities in complex international disputes, in both commercial and investment treaty arbitration.
Mr. Winter-Barker has experience acting for claimants and respondents in arbitrations conducted under the rules of the ICC, LCIA, SIAC, ICDR, AAA, ICSID, UNCITRAL and PCA. His practice encompasses a broad range of cross-border disputes, including those arising from joint ventures, shareholder relationships, franchise arrangements, infrastructure projects and oil and gas investments. He has represented clients across a variety of industries, including energy, financial services, technology, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, and construction.
Mr. Winter-Barker has also advised on a range of public international law matters, including issues relating to the law of the sea, state succession, and proceedings before international human rights bodies.
