Ryan Tan is an associate in the Litigation/Controversy Department and is a member of the International Arbitration Practice Group. He has represented private and public sector clients in a range of international arbitrations and commercial litigation in the energy, construction, technology and retail industries, among others. He has been involved in proceedings under various institutional rules, including the ICC, LCIA, SIAC and UNCITRAL Rules, and before the Supreme Court of Singapore. 

Before his legal career, Mr. Tan was a senior policy officer in the Singapore government, where his portfolio included advising the executive leadership on international defence policy and national security, with a focus on the US-China geostrategic relationship. He also served in the military as a commando officer leading units in ground and airborne operations. 

Mr. Tan obtained his BA from Trinity College, University of Cambridge, which he attended on a Singapore Armed Forces Overseas Scholarship awarded by the Government of Singapore.
